Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT)
The main campus of the Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) is located in Taradale, a few kilometers from downtown Napier and just 5 kilometers from the sea. Napier is located on the sea and has a beautiful promenade.
The “Art Deco stronghold” Napier (60,000 inhabitants) is almost seamlessly into the adjacent Hastings (also 60,000 inhabitants) over, the campus is located in the center of both cities. The Hawkes Bay is known for its mild climate, fine wine and Mediterranean lifestyle.
Ara Institute of Canterbury (formerly CPIT)
The Ara Institute of Canterbury (formerly CPIT), with 25,000 students is the largest University of Applied Sciences in the South Island and one of the leading institutions of its kind in the country.
For its size and quality of the Ara Institute of Canterbury has surprisingly few students from Germany: found in 2011 just 6 German their way to the Ara Institute.
Otago Polytechnic
The Otago Polytechnic University of Applied Sciences is located in the traditional university town of Dunedin (pronounced “Daniedn”). Dunedin (120,000 inhabitants) is a college town full of music, art, fashion, sports, Victorian architecture and is situated in a charming Meeresinlets with some picturesque, some rough beaches.
No wonder that every year among the approximately 7,000 students, and about 15 – 20 students are to be found in Germany.
